I'm Getting Older, Too

While running the risk of sounding cliché, 2014 was truly something special to me. Up until now, the years tended to blur together. Time passed, nothing really changed. Faces and landscapes and experiences all dwelled within a certain comfort zone. But this year I became a college student. I proved my independence to myself and to everyone around me. I was open to people, to change, to life. I was inspired, and I continue to be in the New Year. 2014 was the year I discovered how to be happy--stupid, inexplicably happy. And how to be not-so-happy. And that it's okay to feel both these things, all of these things. I'm learning to see the bigger picture, and to appreciate the struggle, the pain, the humiliation necessary to become the best possible version of ourselves. 

I am well on my way.
